Hardware Lifecycle and IT Roadmap

For organizations where IT spending is reactive, with no plan for what gets replaced or when.

We keep IT spending planned, with hardware tracked and replaced on a schedule and fewer vendors to manage. Capacity is reported monthly, and lifecycle decisions and the roadmap are reviewed each quarter.

How we help

We track what you own and coordinate what you buy next, and the capacity reports and roadmap reviews turn that record into replacement decisions you approve.

Hardware lifecycle and procurement

Each server, storage system, and device tracked with its warranty, a refresh schedule for your project office, and new hardware specified and quoted from fewer vendors.

What you get

  • One asset database that tracks warranty and replacement dates
  • Lease and support status recorded for each asset
  • Refresh schedule by year, with servers that could be virtualized
  • Standard builds for servers and devices
  • Quotes and purchasing coordinated
  • Vendor and support contracts consolidated

Best for

No current list of what is out of warranty, and renewals spread across more vendors than anyone manages.

Capacity reporting and technology roadmap

Compute, storage, and backup capacity reported monthly, reviewed quarterly, and a roadmap that says what gets replaced, what moves to the cloud, and when.

What you get

  • A capacity report each month
  • Quarterly review with leadership: lifecycle decisions and the roadmap
  • Capital spending recommendations for on-site hardware and cloud
  • Each workload checked as a candidate for the cloud
  • Training for your team as new systems go in

Best for

A budget request that arrives after the disk is full, and leaders who want a plan, not only tickets.

Questions we get

Do you sell hardware?

You buy the hardware from the vendor. We specify it, get it quoted, coordinate the purchase, and track it. We provide services, so the recommendation is not tied to a sale.

How far ahead does the refresh schedule look?

Across the term of the agreement, by year, with systems past their support life flagged first. The schedule goes to your project office in the first months and is updated at each quarterly review.

What if we would rather move a system to the cloud than replace it?

That is a line on the roadmap. The lifecycle report marks cloud candidates, and the quarterly review decides replace, move, or retire for each system coming due.

Who approves spending?

You do. We recommend, with the capacity and lifecycle data behind it, and your leadership approves and funds. The decision and the date are recorded.

What changes the scope of hardware lifecycle and roadmap planning?

Mostly how many servers, storage systems, and devices are tracked, and how many vendors you hold contracts with. A roadmap that covers cloud moves as well as replacements adds to it.

Can we buy this on its own?

Yes. It can be bought on its own or with the rest of Managed IT Services, and agreement terms are negotiable. When we also run your systems, the people who run them recommend what to replace.
